PATRONS

  • Hon. Patron Justice V. R. Krishna Iyer
    JUSTICE V.R. KRISHNA IYER, former Judge, Supreme Court of India, was elected to Madras Legislative Assembly in 1956. He was appointed judge of the Kerala High Court in July 1968 and became the Member of The Law Commission of India two years later. In 1973, the Supreme Court of India beckoned him where he played an important role in an era of judicial activism, public interest litigation, affirmative action through Courts and a wide ranging exercise of judicial review for which the Indian Judiciary is being hailed throughout the world today. Mr. Justice Iyer is an Honorary Visiting Professor of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore . He is the only Indian Judge on whom three doctoral thesis have been written by the scholars in three different Universities. He is presently Honorary Patron, Universal Institute of Legal Studies.
 

CHAIRMAN

  • M. G. Arora
    Mr. M.G. Arora, the founder Chairman of the Universal Group, has been in the service of the legal profession for more than half-a-century now. He is the recipient of the Distinguished Bookseller's Award, Excellence in Law Publishing Award, Special award for Lifetime Achievement in the Book Trade. He has the distinction of being listed in the Limca Book of Records as the first and so far the only non-lawyer in India to be honoured by the Bar Association of India for his exceptional service to the legal profession.

ADMINISTRATOR

  • Manish Arora

    Law, they say, is a jealous mistress, which leaves little room for other occupations and engagements. Quite exceptionally, Dr. Manish Arora has managed a way around quite masterly and has donned many hats on many occasions with equal elan. He is not just an exceptionally brilliant advocate but has also been an educator, an editor, and an author besides being many other things to many other people.

    Dr. Manish Arora did his graduation from Hindu College , Delhi University and LL.B. from Law Faculty, Delhi University and further joined Harvard Law School in USA for Doctorate in Intellectual Property Law.

    Dr. Arora, an advocate practicing in the Supreme Court of India, is Director, Universal Law Publishing Company, which is one of the most noted law publishers in the sub-continent. He has edited and authored a number of books and edits no less than three legal journals and a monthly national magazine for lawyers. He has to his credit numerous articles on legal issues published in several magazines and has also appeared on television as an expert on a few occasions.

    On the academic side, he is Deputy Director and Associate Professor, Amity Law School , where he teaches Intellectual Property Law and Cyber Law to LL.M., P.G.D. and LL.B. students. He is also a Visiting Faculty with National Judicial Academy , Bhopal and with Indian Law Institute, New Delhi . Not only that, he is also a faculty with University of Queensland , Brisbane , Australia .

    On the judicial side, he is an Arbitrator appointed by the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India for Settlement of International Domain Name Disputes, and has also worked as Magistrate in Matrimonial matters in the XVIIth Lok Adalat at Delhi.

    These are just a few feathers of different colours and hues in Dr. Arora's well-decorated cap.

  • Purnima Arora

    Mrs. Purnima Arora, having graduated form Shriram College of Commerce, Delhi University, studied management at Amity Business School and obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Management, after which she proceeded to build a career in Education and Legal Journalism.

    Mrs. Arora is now the Executive Editor of a well-known national magazine on law and legal affairs, Lawyers Update, which has a readership of around 1 lac.

    She is also Chief Executive, Administration with Universal Institute Of Legal Studies (UILS) since 2004, and supervises the management of all centres in Delhi, Bhopal, Kolkata & Udaipur and has a significant role to play in Counseling, Admissions and selection of faculty members.

    She has also been part of Universal Law Publishing Company (ULPC), where she edited various legal publications by eminent authors including Chief Justices, Judges, Senior Lawyers and Law Professors. She has also organized various seminars on law on topics such as ‘Career in Law', ‘Right to Information' etc.

  • Ranit Kr. Banerjee

    Dr. Ranit Kumar Banerjee is an Advocate at Supreme Court of India. He has a doctorate in English and a Masters in Law with a B.Ed (1st Class) and D.E.L.T.

    He has been associated with the Hon'ble Society of Lincoln's Inn, UK and such global organisations as Amnesty and Liberty in the UK. He is an alumnus of Oxford, Cambridge and LSE and has taught as Visiting Professor at Surendranath Law College and J.C. Chandhwri Law College of Calcutta University.

    Dr. Banerjee is the Chief Administrator of Universal Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Kolkata Centre.

  • Puneet Gupta

    Mr. Puneet Gupta, a Post Graduate in Commerce from Meerut University, has over 20 years of experience in teaching at various leading Institutes in Delhi & NCR, like Universal Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Career Launcher, JIMS, IILM, KR Manglam, MDPS Faridabad etc.

    He teaches Economics, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. He is also proficient in Vedic Mathematics and has organized various workshops in Schools and Corporate sector on Vedic Mathematics.

    He is the Administrator of East Delhi Centre of Universal Institute of Legal Studies

OUR FACULTY

      

A law graduate from Campus Law Centre (CLC), Faculty of Law, Delhi University , Mr. Anand Prakash Mishra , has spent the last 7 years training law aspirants and has over a thousand of his students enrolled in different Law Schools across the country in both 3-year and 5-year LL.B. programs.

He has inspired a generation of young school students to study law at India's top law schools by conducting seminars in hundreds of the top schools in Delhi and all over of the country.

At UILS he also teaches Legal Aptitude and General Awareness for CLAT and DU LL.B. Entrance Examination. The teaching role is in addition to the responsibility of maintaining highest academic standards at the UILS.



      

Mr. Anoop Kr. Kaushal has been a practicing lawyer since 1988 specializing in General Civil Laws and has appeared before the High Court of Delhi, District Courts, District Forums, State and National Consumer Disputes Rederssal Commissions etc.

After having obtained B.A. LL.B. from Guru Nanak Dev University Campus, Amritsar, he joined the Bar in Delhi. He is now on the panel of Life Insurance Corporation of India, Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance Company Ltd. and Punjab National Bank.

He is also a visiting faculty at Amity Law School and has authored several books in the areas of Consumer Protection, Medical Negligence and Insurance Laws. He is associated as a Visiting Faculty with UILS for law entrances and judicial examinations.



      

Dr. Anurag Agarwal, after completing B.Sc. (Hons.), LL.B. and LL.M. from Delhi University obtained a doctorate (Ph.D.) from the same University, and has been a practicing Advocate and Solicitor at all levels of jurisdiction from District Courts and various Tribunals to the High Courts and the Supreme Court.

A prolific speaker, his academic interests include Jurisprudence, Constitutional laws, Socio-economic laws, human rights, environmental laws, other politico-legal and socio-legal studies about genesis of law and legal framework. Dr. Agarwal has been associated with Universal Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) for many years as a Guest Lecturer for the benefit of law aspirants and LL.B. graduates with Judicial Service aspirations.



      

Mr. Hari Dev Kohli is an M.A., B.T., B.L. (Gold Medalist) M.L. (Gold Medalist) and Ph.D, and has been practicing as an advocate for the last 20 years.

He has a working experience of more than 45 years in Arbitration and over 20 years in Matrimonial Law, Criminal Law and Contract Law.

A prolific writer, Mr. Kohli has authored a number of books in the areas of family law, limitation, arbitration, banking law, etc.

Mr. Kohli has over 15 years of experience in teaching law at various institutions as a Visiting Faculty, and has been associated with UILS in same capacity for the last so many years for law entrance and judicial examinations.



      

Mr. HemRaj Singh, a Post Graduate in English Literature from Allahabad University and a Law Graduate from Faculty of Law, Delhi University (2004), started his professional career in 1995 in Allahabad as a freelancer writing for three leading English newspapers when he was still an undergraduate teenager.

He joined an elite monthly magazine on environment published from New Delhi in 2000 as Sub-Editor and joined Universal Law Publishing Company (ULPC) as Legal Editor in 2002.

He is a professional writer and columnist, and writes on a variety of issues including law, philosophy, politics, crime, society, sports, culture, fitness etc.

His articles are regularly published in leading magazines like Lawyers Update and websites like ezinearticles.com. He has authored, co-authored and revised several books on diverse subjects.

Mr. Singh is a senior faculty member at Universal Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) for Law in general and Legal Reasoning in particular.



      

Dr. Manjula Batra is a Professor of Law at Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University), New Delhi. Earlier, she was Director, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi and was also Director, Vivekananda Law School.

Dr. Batra has organized various seminars on Criminal Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Consumer Protection Law and reforms in Family Law as well as organized Moot Court competitions and has officiated as judge in various competitions.

Dr. Batra has several publications against her name, notably among them is the Citizen’s Guide to Environment Rights, Duties and Responsibilities (Published by Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India). She has also revised Monir’s Law of Evidence.

Dr. Batra is a faculty member at Universal Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) for Judicial Service Examinations.



      

Mr. Pradeep Kumar has double masters, one in Political Science and the other in English, both from Delhi University.

Mr. Kumar has a teaching experience of over 15 years. He teaches Political Science, Economics, Geography and Sociology. He also teaches General Studies for various competitive Examinations including Law and UPSC Exams.

Mr. Kumar is a faculty for General Studies at Universal Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) for both Law Entrances and Judicial examinations.



      

Dr. Surat Singh is not only a leading advocate at the Supreme Court and the Delhi High Court but is also an International Lawyer and Negotiator.

Having studied at Delhi University, Oxford University and Harvard University, Dr. Singh is one of the most highly qualified lawyers of the country with three Masters in Law (Delhi, Oxford and Harvard) and a Doctorate in Law from Harvard University.

He has had the privilege of being classmates with the US President Mr. Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., during 1988-1990 at Harvard.

Dr. Singh has been associated with several national and international organizations, and has also been awarded by many national and international organizations for his outstanding contribution to law and justice. He is also a prolific writer with several books to his credit.

He is associated with UILS as a Visiting Faculty to inspire law and judiciary aspirants.



      

Dr. Tara Chadha was a Reader in English at Shyama Prasad Mukherji College, University of Delhi, and is now associated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi as a Visiting Faculty. She is also a Visiting Faculty at the Institute of Lifelong Learning, University of Delhi.

She has authored several English text books for Delhi University, SCERT and Public Schools and is regularly engaged in developing material for the NCERT text books.

A widely travelled person, Dr. Chadha has participated and presented research papers at several National and International conferences.

Dr. Chadha heads the English Faculty at Universal Institute of Legal Studies (UILS).



      

Mrs. Vibha Arora is an Advocate on Record, having passed the exam conducted by the Supreme Court of India in 2009.

Earlier, she graduated from Allahabad University in 1987 and did her LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, Delhi University. She has also authored a book titled ‘Laws Related to Women & Children’.

Mrs. Arora is associated with Universal Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) as Faculty and Content Writer for Law related subjects.
